Bailie became part of Kim’s family on Valentine’s Day 2024, not long after they had said goodbye to a beloved dog. Their hearts were still healing when Kim’s husband found Bailie online and discovered that the two of them shared a birthday. They took it as a little sign from the dog they had lost, and he surprised Kim by saying Bailie was “my Valentine’s present.”
Somewhere along the way, though, Bailie decided she was more his dog than Kim’s. The Mini Goldendoodle is, in Kim’s words, a “lovable hot mess” who keeps the family on its toes, has never met a stranger, and fills their days with laughter and personality.
Bailie has a way of making everyone she meets feel important. Whether someone has been gone all day or only stepped outside to get the mail, she greets them with the same over-the-top excitement. Kim’s grandson has also become one of her favorite people—especially because Bailie has learned that he is a reliable source of food and always deserves plenty of kisses.
That affection extends beyond the family. When Bailie visits Kim’s mother’s friends at her skilled nursing home, her wagging tail and enthusiastic personality bring smiles, laughter, and a little sunshine to the day.
Of course, Bailie has a mischievous side. If she thinks she may be in trouble and someone reaches down to pick her up, she rolls onto her back, turns on the puppy-dog eyes, and somehow makes everyone forget what she did in the first place.
Camping is another important part of life with Bailie. The family began using Pup Stack when she was a puppy, and it has become a regular part of their trips. They also use it in the garage and on the patio when they want to keep Bailie nearby.
On a summer trip to the mountains of Colorado, their campsite was near a steep drop-off. Kim says knowing Bailie was secured with Pup Stack gave the family peace of mind and helped them relax and enjoy the surroundings without constantly worrying that she might wander too close to the edge.
For Kim and her family, Bailie is a daily dose of laughter, a source of comfort, and a reminder of how much joy can come with four paws, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of personality. From quiet moments at home to camping adventures far away, their lives are richer because she found her way into the family.
